I thought I’d kick off this blog my reviewing one of my favorite books about millionaires: The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas J. Stanley and William D. Danko.

These guys have conducted lots of research into exactly who the American millionaire is – and their expertise in this arena has allowed them to earn a good living by acting as consultants to corporations that have products and services they want to sell to the rich.

This book destroys the assumptions most people have about millionaires. Millionaires do not look like you expect them to: neither do they act like millionaires, dress like millionaires or eat like millionaires. Millionaires do not live in big houses, drive posh cars or wear expensive clothes.

The real millionaires are indistinguishable from the average middle-class American – that is, until you look at their bank accounts. They don’t flaunt their wealth because they don’t have to. When they make purchases, they look for value. They save at least 15% of their income to use for investments or emergency cash and have enough funds available to live a good lifestyle for over a decade without any income whatsoever.

They are mostly self-made millionaires and are not afraid of hard work (which is perhaps why I’m not a millionaire lol).

If you want to discover all the characteristics, traits, principles and skills of the real self-made millionaires of America, then The Millionaire Next Door is the book you need. And, armed with this knowledge, you will understand exactly how you, too, can learn to be wealthy.

Also check out the following Youtube video, where Thomas Stanley explains many of the pieces of advice imparted in the book (warning: it’s nearly 9 hours long, so you’ll probably have to split it into a number of sessions – or better still, just buy the book for 10 bucks).

Hey guys,

I’m not usually one to complain publicly about poor customer service but after the experience I’ve had (and am having) with one of my hosting providers – UK2.NET – I feel I need to warn others about the poor support and customer service I’ve received from them.

I’m going to write a full review of UK2 hosting on one of my other blogs soon but in the meantime, here is a brief bulletpoint list of what is bad about them:

  • UK2.NET support personnel take a long time to fix problems – some of my websites have now been down for 3 days. Last month, they were down for 4 days.
  • UK2.NET customer service personnel take a long time to respond – anything between 4 hours and never.
  • UK2.NET customer service personnel won’t give you any details – they won’t tell you how long they expect your sites to be down for, they won’t tell you what the cause of the problem is.
  • UK2.NET billing will not give you a refund for prolonged downtime – I was offered 15 days free hosting lol.
  • Their support site has a pretend support freephone number – call the freephone number and they tell you to call an expensive 0900 number for support.
  • I got the feeling that UK2.NET as a company do not care about me as one of their customers.

The upshot is that these guys have cost me lots of money in lost revenues and completely screwed up some of my search engine rankings…and as time progresses without a fix, the damages are getting worse.

Things do go wrong from time to time, I understand this (I used to be a computer techie) but when the end user is not given a timescale for a problem being fixed, or are simply ignored for hours on end it results in a very poor customer experience. And 4 days downtime is simply not acceptable for any webhost, especially one of UK2.NET’s size and stature.

I chose UK2.NET because they are a big company and are supposed to be experts in their field – this is why I was happy to pay a premium for a hosting account (these guys are quite expensive). From the responses I received from UK2.NET staff, I deduced they’re big in terms of sales but their technology, support and customer service are no better than many of the smaller cheaper hosts that are floating around.

One particularly annoying thing about this whole affair is that I paid UK2.NET more than 6 times as much money as I pay one of my other web hosting suppliers and the other web hosting supplier is far superior in every aspect.

I know where I’ll be spending my money in the future…

Danny

Hey guys,

Just a quick post today…

For all you Internet Marketers, I want to share with you a cool new link building tool that is due to be released later this month (18th July).

It’s called Backlink Profit Monster and it’s perhaps the best link-building software available.

In a nutshell, what it does is seek out websites that rank high in the search engines for a particular keywords then analyses all the websites that are linking to them. It then automatically creates similar backlinks for your own website.

This results in your website having lots and lots of backlinks from the same websites as your competitors – and not just one competitor but lots of them – and every Internet Marketer worth his salt knows the value of backlinks!

The upshot is that it saves hundreds (if not thousands) of man-hours and gives you more time to concentrate on your website’s content and the actual selling of your product.

So, if your looking to drastically reduce the amount of time you spend on SEO, the link building tool you should be using is Backlink Profit Monster.

Find out more at the Backlink Profit Monster Review website and the Official Backlink Profit Monster website.

Hey guys,

Today I want to talk to you about Mack Michael’s Millionaire Society – basically, a bunch of video tutorials and other resources for making money through online marketing.

You can sign up for a 3-day trial to check out the materials for $5, so that’s exactly what I did and what follows is my review of the Millionaire Society product.

Signing up
After paying my 5 bucks, I was brought to a confirmation page that (amongst other things) told me I shouldn’t share the information contained within the members or I faced the wrath of Mack’s lawyers and that he hoped I hadn’t signed up with objective of getting the materials for free and then asking for a refund :)

To be fair, if the product lived up to the promises on the sales page, I wouldn’t even think about requesting a refund – however, if it didn’t then, of course I’d want my money back!

It’s worth noting that when you pay for the 3-day trial, you’re also committing to the $40 monthly subscription (unless you cancel).

One last thing to point out is that your member password is set as your Clickbank receipt number.

Being a millionaire is hard work, so it is important to have relaxing hobbies to chill out. Learn how to do bonsai with these free tutorials for bonsai beginners or check out these bonsai books.

So, what’s in the member’s area?
Well, there’s LOADS of video tutorials – this guy has really put a lot of effort into ensuring there’s plenty of information included in his product. Unfortunately, I found a lot of the videos contained a fair bit of waffle ( and watching the same 20 second intro to each video gets a bit tedious, too). Despite this, I did find a few useful tidbits of information scattered around.

Now, this may be because I’m in the Internet Marketing trade and most of the stuff in the videos I already knew, so I got my friend, Tommo, to take a look. Tommo is computer literate but had no previous experience of Internet Marketing (except a few buzzwords that he’d picked up from me). After watching a few of the introductory videos, I asked him what he thought.

Tommo agreed that there was a little irrelevantĀ chatter through the vids, but he also felt that he’d learned a lot from them as well. So much so that he’s going to sign up for the program to see if it really works (I’m going to pay half his subscription for the first couple of months in exchange for an article about his experience, which I’ll be publishing here at a later date).

So, for beginners, the vids are okay and will give the amateur internet marketer a solid foundation in the industry. For intermediate and advanced Internet marketers that already know about setting up websites, keyword research, backlink-building, social media etc. – there’s nothing new here!

In addition to the video tutorials, The Millionaire Society also offers a number of other ‘tabs’ on the navigation bar.

Firstly are videos of recorded webinars that focus on particular Internet Marketing subjects. The webinars are pretty good, although I could only find two webinars in the webinar library, which I found a little odd because it states that the webinars are weekly and the product has been on the market for months! It could be that my access to the webinars is restricted because I’ve only paid for $5 trial.

There’s also a MASSIVE list of free information products you can download, then sell or give away on your website and a rolodex containing links to useful tools that you can use in your Internet Marketing business.

In a Nutshell
So, what will Millionaire Society teach you to do?

  • Create and configure websites
  • Promote your websites (using a variety of different methods)
  • Make money from your websites

Of course, it’s then up to you to put the stuff you learn into practice and this will take a fair bit of hard work. You’ll be armed with enough knowledge to make money online but how much you learn will depend on how hard you work.

The Good Points

  • Very comprehensive – lots for you to learn
  • It works – speaking as an Internet Marketer myself, most of the info is sound advice

The Bad Points

  • Videos too long – Mack should edit out the 20 second intro and waffle
  • Beginners only – Intermediate and advanced Internet Marketers will learn very little new stuff (although I did learn a few little tidbits of info)

If you want to get into the Internet Marketing game, then Millionaire Society is a good starting point. I’d suggest signing up for the 3 day trial for $5 and if you find it useful, go for the whole product.

As an alternative, I can highly recommend George Brown’s Google Sniper (review coming soon).

Until next time, stay happy :)
